Coaches talk about starting a business with no money all the time.
No overhead, no inventory, pure digital leverage.
It sounds liberating.
It’s also usually nonsense.
Every business costs something.
Time at minimum, money usually, and often both at once.
Before I get into things, I have been arguing with myself backwards and forwards about publishing this.
On one hand, I don’t really want to, because what I spend my money on is my business.
On the other hand, if I don’t talk about this ugly stuff, then I am doing exactly the same thing as those in the industry I am countering.
With all that in mind, here’s what the four actually cost me to get off the ground.

None of this makes for an inspiring social media post.
That’s fine.
If you want inspiring, there are a thousand coaches who’ll sell you that.
If you want accurate, this is what it actually looked like.

Cameron is building four businesses at once and documenting every win, loss, and ugly middle bit in real time.
He’s the founder of Build Your Vegan Blog, the Vegan Certification Authority, Epiktet Supplies, and Dark Quill Agency.
He is also the voice behind NABB.coach, where he writes about the realities of starting and running businesses without the coaching industry’s usual spin.
No blueprints.
No gurus.
Just what’s actually happening.
