Nobody dreams of distributing cleaning chemicals.
Nobody sits in a coffee shop, opens their MacBook, and thinks “you know what, I want to become the Victorian distributor for an organic cleaning chemical brand.”
It doesn’t make for a compelling origin story.
It doesn’t photograph well.
No one’s going to invite me on a podcast to talk about it.
And yet here we are.
Epiktet Supplies is the Victorian distributor for Evolution Organics professional-grade organic cleaning chemicals.
The kind of thing that goes into commercial kitchens, hospitality venues, food production facilities.
Real cleaning products for real cleaning problems.
Here’s why I’m building it.
First, the product is genuinely good.
Evolution Organics makes professional cleaning chemicals that are organic and actually work.
That’s not as common as it sounds.
A lot of “eco” cleaning products are eco in name only, they fall short on performance.
These don’t.
Second, it fits.
I’m building a vegan certification body on one hand and a vegan blog on the other.
A cleaning chemical distributor whose product range aligns with vegan and organic values isn’t a random addition, it’s part of a coherent world.
Clients who care about what goes into their products also tend to care about what’s cleaning the surfaces those products sit on.
Third, it’s physical.
It’s tangible.
It’s not content.
It’s not a course
It’s not a digital download.
Someone buys a product, it gets delivered, it cleans something.
That simplicity has a lot of appeal after spending too much time in the digital business world where value can feel abstract.
Fourth, it is what I use myself.
These products aren’t classified as dangerous goods.
This means that they aren’t legally required to be kept under lock and key.
And finally, it is something I can pass on to the kids.
Let’s face it, the job prospects are getting harder all the time.
This will be a job, a business, and an asset for them, that they can do with as they please.
That is my big WHY.
Is it moving fast?
No.
Distribution takes time.
Building relationships with commercial clients takes time.
There’s no hack for that.
But it’s real.
And right now, real feels like enough.
